Taking place in classic New Orleans, Louisiana, during the the 1920's jazz era, this failrytale takes us down south to the world of the the haves, the have nots, and the want to have mores. Princess and the Frog is set in real, historical America. The divide between rich and poor reveals itself when Tiana as a child, returns from the stately home of her mother's best client, Big Daddy La Bouff, to her own family's ramshackle abode. The differences between neighborhoods/residences and their circumstances couldn't be clearer.

What follows is very much Disney, old school style. The frog prince persuades Tiana to give him a kiss in hopes of being turned back to his self-absorbed true sel and instead, she turns into a frog, too. The unhappy couple ends up on the run in the bayou, where they meet an assortment of colorful characters, a tooth decaying Cajun Firefly (who has a heart like no other), a trumpet playing alligator, and a 197 year old, blind voodoo priestess named Mama Odie (love her).

The Princess and the Frog is a must see movie. It's much more than a damsel in distress - Tiana don't play that. She's a hardworking, focused and dedicated dreamer that will show and prove to all - with a little hard work, determination, and knowing what really is important (MESSAGE), dreams can come true.

Added as number forty-nine (49) in the Disney Classics line and produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, the Princess and the Frog is an adaptation loosely based on based on E.D. Baker's novel The Frog Princess (sequentially inspired by the Grimm brothers' fairy tale The Frog Prince ).  Directed by the winning team of John Musker and Ron Clements (also directors of The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, and Treasure Planet), Princess and the Frog brings the animation team back to its roots with hand-drawn animation not done since 2004.  “At every turn,” director Ron Clements says, “we realized that we could reach out and touch the legacy of the animated Disney fairy tale, and yet move in surprising and interesting new ways, rather than slavishly imitating or reproducing what had been done before.” It proves that 2-D (2 dimensional) can have more "umph" than 3-D when talented filmmakers put old fashioned snap back into animation.
